Recruitment of Editors
The Caucasian Medical Journal ensures that the recruitment and appointment of editors are conducted through a transparent and merit-based process to maintain the journal's high scientific and ethical standards. Editors are selected carefully to ensure scientific impartiality and to uphold the journal’s mission of publishing high-quality, ethical research in all fields of medicine.
Candidates are evaluated based on their academic achievements, research excellence, editorial experience, ethical integrity, and alignment with the journal’s values and objectives. Established scholars, active researchers, and qualified self-nominated candidates are all considered. Emphasis is placed on diversity and inclusivity, ensuring the Editorial Board represents a broad range of research disciplines, geographical regions, and backgrounds.
The appointment process is transparent, with candidates nominated by the Editorial Board or identified through open applications. Selected editors formally commit to adhering to the journal’s ethical guidelines and international best practices as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
To maintain editorial impartiality, editors must avoid participating in the review or decision-making process for manuscripts where any conflict of interest exists. They are required to disclose any potential conflicts promptly and recuse themselves when necessary.
Editorial performance is reviewed regularly, taking into account active participation, adherence to ethical standards, and contributions to the journal’s growth and development. Editors who demonstrate ongoing commitment continue in their roles, while new appointments are made as needed to support the journal’s evolving goals.
Through this principled approach, the Caucasian Medical Journal ensures that its editorial leadership remains dedicated, diverse, and aligned with the highest standards of scholarly publishing.
