Editorial Oversight
The Caucasian Medical Journal is dedicated to maintaining high standards of scientific rigor, transparency, and ethical integrity throughout the publication process. Our editorial oversight policy ensures the quality, originality, and significance of all published research.
Editorial Process
Upon submission, each manuscript is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to ensure suitability and compliance with the journal's scope and guidelines. Suitable manuscripts are assigned to an Associate Editor with relevant expertise, who manages the peer review process. The Associate Editor selects at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the subject area to conduct a thorough and unbiased review. Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, methodological rigor, clarity, significance, and adherence to ethical standards. Based on reviewer feedback, the Associate Editor recommends whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected. Final decisions are typically made within four to six weeks.
Acceptance Criteria
Decisions on manuscript acceptance are based solely on scientific quality, originality, clarity, and relevance to the readership. The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board reserve the right to make final acceptance or rejection decisions independently of the reviewers' recommendations. Manuscripts must clearly and comprehensively communicate their scientific content.
Editorial Revisions and Manuscript Modifications
The editorial team may suggest modifications to improve clarity, coherence, grammar, and adherence to journal style guidelines. Substantial editorial changes will be communicated to authors, and if significant revisions are needed, manuscripts will be returned for modification. Authors are expected to address all requested revisions carefully and resubmit within the specified timeframe.
Proofs and Final Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo final copyediting and proofreading to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with journal standards. Authors will receive proofs for final approval and are responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all content. Significant changes to proofs may require additional editorial review.
Ethical and Editorial Standards
Editorial oversight strictly adheres to ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and other relevant bodies. Disputes or ethical concerns arising during the editorial process are handled confidentially and impartially according to established policies and COPE guidelines.
The Editorial Board of the Caucasian Medical Journal continually evaluates and updates these policies to maintain rigorous, ethical, and transparent editorial oversight, upholding the highest standards in scientific publication.
